Fluconazole tablets can help to relieve the following symptoms of thrush in women.

    • Soreness and stinging when you urinate

    • Difficulty in pulling back the foreskin
    • White discharge (like cottage cheese)

Why is Fluconazole prescribed to treat thrush?

Fluconazole has been used to treat fungal infections since 1988. It is currently listed on the World Health Organisation's List of Essential Medicine.

Clinical research has also found that Fluconazole is well-tolerated, meaning you are not likely to suffer side effects.

Fluconazole capsules will begin to work immediately. Most people start to notice a significant improvement after just a few days, with most symptoms clearing completely within one week.

    How does Fluconazole treat thrush?

Fluconazole treats thrush by killing the fungus (yeast) that causes the infection. It does this by making holes in the fungus’s cell membrane, which makes the contents leak out. This works to cure the infection by restoring the natural balance of bacteria and relieving symptoms such as itching and soreness.
