What is Millinette?
Millinette is an oral contraceptive pill that contains two active ingredients, gestodene and ethinylestradiol, which are synthetic female sex hormones.
Millinette is a monophasic combined pill; this means that each pill in the pack contains the same dose of gestodene and ethinylestradiol.
You must have a prescription to buy Millinette.
What is Millinette used to treat?
Millinette tablets work to prevent women from becoming pregnant. When taken correctly, they are more than 99% effective at preventing pregnancy.
If you start to take this pill during the first five days of your menstrual cycle, you will be protected against pregnancy immediately.
How does Millinette work?
Millinette prevents the ovaries from releasing an egg. This contraceptive pill also thickens the fluid in the cervix, making it much harder for sperm to reach the uterus.
Additionally, Millinette stops the lining of the womb from thickening enough for any fertilised egg to be implanted in the womb. This will also make periods lighter than usual.
