What is Betamethasone with Neomycin Cream?
Betamethasone with Neomycin Cream is a topical treatment for skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, insect bites and various other types of rashes.
You can only buy Betamethasone with Neomycin on prescription.
What is Betamethasone with Neomycin Cream used to treat?
Betamethasone with Neomycin Cream is a prescription-only topical corticosteroid treatment for various skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis and insect bites.
It contains two active ingredients, betamethasone valerate and neomycin sulphate, which work together to reduce irritation and stop the growth of bacteria.
Why is Betamethasone with Neomycin Cream recommended for skin conditions?
Betamethasone with Neomycin Cream is prescribed for comprehensive treatment of skin problems.
Corticosteroids like betamethasone valerate possess anti-inflammatory properties which help to relieve inflammation of the skin that comes with conditions like insect bites and eczema.
Neomycin is an antibacterial medicine, meaning it helps to protect the body from infection and kill harmful bacteria. Essentially, it stops the bacteria from spreading on the surface of the skin.
How does Betamethasone with Neomycin Cream work?
The two medicines contained in this cream (betamethasone valerate and neomycin sulphate) each work in different ways to relieve the common symptoms associated with skin problems.
Betamethasone valerate is a powerful corticosteroid which effectively works to reduce irritation and inflammation of the skin, which are common problems for people who suffer from the likes of eczema, insect bites and psoriasis.
Neomycin sulphate is an antibiotic medicine which helps to treat the underlying problem by stopping the harmful bacteria from producing the necessary proteins they need to live. This kills the infection. Because some skin conditions can pose a serious risk of infection, the antibacterial properties of this medicine makes it a highly beneficial treatment.
