What is Losec MUPS?
Losec is the brand name for omeprazole tablets, which is a prescription medication used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and acid reflux.
Losec contains the active ingredient omeprazole, which inhibits the activity of the proteins known as proton pumps; these pumps produce stomach acid. It is part of a group of medicines that are called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
You can buy Losec either in the form of capsules or as a multiple unit pellet system (Losec MUPS).
The 20mg (28 capsules) dosage is available for next day delivery at Medicine Direct online pharmacy.
What is Losec used to treat?
Losec is an effective treatment for anyone suffering from acid reflux, providing a cure for anyone with excessive stomach acid. Excess acid in the stomach can be painful and lead to stomach ulcers or the erosion in the lining of your throat.
As well as treating acid reflux, taking Losec can be used to treat gastrointestinal ulcers and heartburn.
How does Losec MUPS work?
As a proton pump inhibitor, losec works by preventing the proton pumps located in the lining of the stomach, from working at their full capacity. Proton pumps are responsible for the production of stomach acid, Losec's inhibitory effect prevent the proton pumps from producing excessive stomach acid. As a result, symptoms of acid reflux and other acid related conditions are relieved.
The inhibitory effects of Losec are very fast acting and can be felt within just 1 hour of taking it. The full effects can be felt within 2 hours of ingesting losec.
